eragonsmall1.jpgCanmag have unearthed a new Japanese trailer for upcoming fantasy epic Eragon. The video for the first time shows footage of the hatchling Saphira, the dragon steed of the title character played by Edward Speelers.

Canmag have criticised the CG work on the creature which does look quite ‘cutesy’, but I’m quite liking the look of it, especially when juxtaposed against the fully grown dragon decked out in battle armour and breathing fire.

RockyBalboaPostersmall.jpgA new quicktime trailer has appeared online for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa. The trailer is similar to earlier teasers but features musical cues from Eye of the Tiger. Click here to view.

The Columbia Pictures movie tells the tale of ex-heavyweight champion Rocky ‘The Italian Stallion’ Balboa who is tempted into an exhibition match against current champ Mason Dixon (Antonio Tarver) after a computer match decides that the veteran slugger in his prime would have KO’d the young titleholder. Rocky Balboa is scheduled for release December 22.

mcfearless.jpgScreenwriter Tim Firth has been hired by Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Walt Disney Pictures to adapt The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless by Ahmet Zappa. The author is the son of Frank Zappa and released his debut novel in June 2006 which was published by Random House and optioned for over $1 million.

The story revolves around a child ‘monsterminator’ called Minerva McFearless who is part of a family that has been hunting down and destroying monsters for thousands of generations. After the dreaded Zarmaglorg, the king of evil himself has kidnapped Minerva’s father, she and her little brother Max must set off to rescue him. They are armed only with the Monstranomicon - a living book that holds every secret about every bloodthirsty beast known to mankind.

Casino RoyaleThe new James Bond film Casino Royale starts its theatrical run tomorrow (November 17), and we’ve got interviews with the main cast and crew. We have previously featured Chris Corbould (Special Effects Supervisor), Eva Green (Vesper Lynd), Dame Judi Dench (M) and Gary Powell (Stunt Coordinator) and Mads Mikkelsen (Le Chiffre), and now our series is nearing an end. Today, our penultimate interview is with the film’s director himself, Martin Campbell.

Campbell is no stranger to the franchise, having directed Pierce Brosnan’s first outing as James Bond in GoldenEye. This he followed with the box office and critical success The Mask of Zorro, with Catherine Zeta Jones and Antonio Bandera’s and, more recently, the sequel, The Legend of Zorro. His other films include Vertical Limit and Beyond Borders.

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
