The third season of Lost, of which the fourth episode was aired this Wednesday, will go into a three month hiatus after the sixth episode airs on ABC November 8. The show will return February 7, 2007, when the first of the remaining third season episodes is shown, reports TV.com.
ABC decided to take this measure after viewers had criticized that the first and second season runs had been continually interrupted by repeats until the season finales in May 2005 and 2006. The three month break will allow for 16 repeat-free episodes to be aired successively.
In related news, Sci-Fi.com reports that actor Nathan Fillion, known for his role as Captain Reynolds in Joss Whedon’s Firefly and Serenity, will guest star in the final episode preceding the hiatus as on of ‘The Others’.

Is the fourth and final villian in the third Spider-Man film Mysterio? According to film ick, Bruce Campbell will play Quentin Beck, a special effects wizard who eventually becomes one of Spider-man’s greatest villians.
The report says that Beck will be introduced while working on a film about the famed webcrawler. Yes, apparently there will be a film within the film.
The report remains unconfirmed and goes against the words of Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad, who said the fourth villian would be revealed during Comic Con. The fourth villian was originally believed to be Spider-man himself as he sports the black costume.

The rumour that Gael Garcia Bernal (Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Motorcycle Diaries) would star opposite Matt Damon in The Bourne Ultimatum has now been debunked by Bernal himself.
Apparently he was offered the role of an assassin hunting down the amnesiac spy Jason Bourne (Damon) in the third Bourne film, which he turned down due to time restraints. Bernal told CHUD that he loves the Bourne movies, but is busy finishing up his directorial debut Deficit, which is about some reach boys who learn some tough lessons.
The Bourne Ultimatum is already filming under the helm of director Paul Greengrass.

MTV had a chat with Pan’s Labyrinth director Guillermo del Toro, who also talked about his upcoming Hellboy sequel:
“We are literally in the early stages of preproduction. We’ve been designing the thing, and we are going to be shooting in April or May of next year. It’s a bigger story than the first one, and it is actually a larger scope. It’s similar to Pan’s Labyrinth in the fact that the everyday world is grinding fantasy into the ground. Everyday life is creating a mundane reality and destroying fantasy. All of the main characters are coming back.”
Hellboy 2 is expected to hit theaters in 2008.

According to Slashfilm, MGM chief operating officer Rick Sands mentioned Terminator 4 and The Hobbit, two of the company’s tentpoles, at ShowEast this week.
Apparently, MGM is currently in talks with New Line Cinema to obtain the rights to create two prequel films to The Lord of the Rings, based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit.
Regarding the fourth Terminator movie, Sands said it would get a new title (as opposed to simply being called Terminator 4). This decision was made after a poll showed that fans prefer new titles over numbers. He also touched upon the subject of a new actor replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger, the original Terminator: “It’s like the Batman or Superman franchise in that it lends itself to having different actors in the roles”.
