Arthur Weasley and Harry Potter in LondonThe Westminster tube station in London was closed on Sunday for filming of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Photos from the shoot are now available online at realmovienews.com and londontaxitour.com. They depict the filming of a scene with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) and Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley) entering a phone booth near Scotland Yard.

In the book, Harry and Mr. Weasley use the London underground to travel to the Ministry of Magic, which they enter via a telephone booth after using the phone to type in a secret code number.

Starscream ProtoformToy packaging images from next summer’s Transformers film have surfaced over at acttoys.net showing Optimus Prime and Starscream in their so-called protoforms: their original configuration which they have upon arriving on Earth. All the transformers get their successive distinctive looks when they ‘trans-scan’ an Earth vehicle of choice and morph into it, e.g. Optimus Prime’s protoform morphs into the blue-and-red robot that can transform into a truck after performing a scan. But prior to this, Optimus, Starscream and their alt modes (i.e. what they transform into) look very different - see for yourself (or if that server is down, view the picture in our movie gallery)!

spidey3small.jpgProducer Grant Curtis has been talking on the Spider-Man 3 blog site about an upcoming ‘making-of’ book and the progress that is being made with the visual FX.

The book, which will be published by Chronicle Books will hit shelves prior to May 4, 2007 and contain chapters on the script, casting, production design, costume design and visual effects. It will also include Curtis’ day-by-day filming journal. Additionally, it will feature the producer’s behind the scenes photographs, which he began taking the very first day he started working on the film, on-set photography, pictures taken from various crew members and conceptual art.

Curtis goes on to talk about the visual FX-

trekxismall.jpgTrekmovie reports that according to ’studio insiders’, the assumption is that the eleventh movie in the Star Trek series will get a greenlight and be one of Paramount’s tentpoles for Summer 2008. With the first draft of the script due soon, JJ Abrams and his team are already in talks with actors to fill the major roles. The site suggests that there may even be a casting announcement before the script is approved in December of this year or January of 2007. It is still unclear how many of the original series roles are being recast but another of Trekmovie’s sources has said that the characters of McCoy and Scotty will now be featured in addition to Kirk and Spock.

Hulk Is Hero. It has been a long and hard two years for director Louis Letterier. To bring The Incredible Hulk to the screen was not only only a huge task in terms of scale but also in terms of a media and fanbase who were protective over a character they felt had been misconstrued […]

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
