Lyra BelacquaProduction on The Golden Compass, the adaptation of the first book in the His Dark Materials trilogy, has moved to Greenwich, where director Chris Weitz is filming the scene in which young heroine Lyra flees London with the help of the Gyptians (a gypsy-like river folk) after Mrs. Coulter’s (that’s Nicole Kidman) party.

Fansite Bridge To The Stars published a set report which can be read here, while CBBC is featuring a bunch of photographs from the shoot right here. One of the pictures offers the first ever glimpse at Lyra, although it is unclear whether or not the girl pictured is Dakota Blue Richards (who plays Lyra) or her stunt double. The other pictures show fully costumed Gyptian extras and many of their boats.

WolverineComingSoon.net and Superhero Hype! talked Wolverine with Hugh Jackman.

Jackman said that the script of the Wolverine X-Men spinoff is complete and a director should be in place by the end of the year. He also said that the film will not focus on Wolverines Japanese storyline and that he isn’t ruling out a sequel.

“We’ve now signed off on the script. If you know about the history of ‘X-Men’ movies, that’s a revolution for us. We’re a year away from shooting the film and we have the script,” Jackman said. “And, by the way, it is unbelievable. It’s a David Benioff script. He’s probably the hottest writer going around town, and he was beating down our door to write this movie. It was the most amazing thing. So, we have this fantastic script. I’ve got a couple of movies coming out in the next month, and I might be able to tell you who the director is by then. We’re seriously into talking about it now.”

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
