Variety reports that Spider-Man director Sam Raimi is teaming up with Rob Tapert to develop “House of Horrors” for The CW.

The show will be a horror based reality show in which participants will try to stay alive in a “House of Horrors.” The show is expected to air as early as next summer and will be co-executive produced by Gunnar Witterberg (”Treasure Hunters”) and William Hamm.

Production Weekly reports that Sacha Baron Cohen, the British comic actor who found fame with his Ali G and Borat characters is in talks to star opposite Johnny Depp in a Tim Burton adaptation of the stage musical Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Cohen will be cast as Signor Adolfo Pirelli, Sweeney Todd’s haircutting nemesis.

The Stephen Sondheim musical originally appeared on Broadway in 1979 in a production directed by Harold Prince and starring Angela Lansbury and Len Cariou. The story is about a barber in Victorian England who kills his clients with a razor and bakes the carcasses into meat pies. Production is scheduled to begin in early February at London’s Pinewood Studios.
