RockyBalboaPostersmall.jpgThe official poster has been released for the upcoming Rocky Balboa, the sixth and final installment of Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky series. The black & white poster depicts Rocky in iconic pose, garbed in familiar sweat suit and hat with hands held aloft. The Columbia Pictures movie tells the tale of ex-heavyweight champion Rocky ‘The Italian Stallion’ Balboa who is tempted into an exhibition match against current champ Mason Dixon (Antonio Tarver) after a computer match decides that the veteran slugger in his prime would have KO’d the young titleholder. Rocky Balboa is scheduled for release December 22.

BatmanHans Zimmer will return to compose the soundtrack of The Dark Knight, reports Soundtrack.net. The website conducted an interview with the composer, who confirmed it thus:

“Well, once I’ve done the next Batman movie, which will finish in early 2008, I thought I’d take a year off from writing film scores and just go and do some concerts.”

The site promises to have more from Zimmer on the sequel in a forthcoming second part of the interview. No word yet on whether or not Batman Begins co-composer James Newton Howard will be back on board aswell.

Shia LaBeouf holding the Energon Cube? Two pictures showing actor Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky) carrying a square black box on the set of Michael Bay’s Transformers movie (which finished shooting last week) were posted over on the official message boards of the director. Said black box is widely believed to be, in fact, the Energon Cube itself, the coveted object both the Decepticons and the Autobots seek to get their metallic hands on in the film, as the Cube holds the power to ignite any piece of machinery with the sparkle of life. The Energon Cube is not to be confused with the concept of the energon cubes seen in the 1980s cartoon, which the Decepticons used to store the energy they stole from Earth’s natural resources in.

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
