Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has recently returned from a trip to New York (for An Evening With Harry, Carrie & Garp.) and has now updated her official website with a status report on book 7, the final installment in the series:

Now that I’m back from New York, the only real news is that I’m continuing to work hard on the book. I’ve done quite a lot, and I’m really enjoying it, though every now and then I look up and realise that it’s THE LAST ONE. You might think I’d have got used to that idea during the sixteen years I’ve been planning seven books, but it still keeps hitting me… no more Harry after this… and then I bury myself in book seven again and tell myself I’ve still got plenty to write.

Variety reports that Universal Pictures has recruited Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3) to write and direct Marvel’s Sub-Mariner movie adaptation. According to Variety, Mostow has cleared his schedule to make Sub-Mariner his next project.

Namor the Sub-Mariner, created by cartoonist Bill Everett in April 1939 is an undersea hero originating from the mythical kingdom of Atlantis. The project is being produced by Kevin Misher through Misher Films along with Marvel Studios.
