I’m not going to pretend that this screenplay was provided to us by some scooper who is ultra-close to the production on Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers live adaptation, because quite frankly that’s not true. The script, which carries the title ‘Prime Directive’ on the cover, was written by John Rogers (who’s previously scripted American Outlaws, The Core and, ugh, Catwoman, aswell as a teleplay for an episode of Eureka) and revised by writer duo Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman (Hercules, Alias, The Island, M:I:III and the upcoming Star Trek XI). It leaked onto the internet a couple of weeks ago, so many of the hardcore Transformers fanbase have read it. Our idea now was to provide a script review for those of you who’d rather not spoil themselves to the extent of reading the entire script, but would appreciate a preview and estimation of what’s in store July 4th, 2007.

CHUD is exclusively hosting the new and beautifully cut teaser trailer for Pan’s Labyrinth. The new film by Hellboy and Blade II director Guillermo del Toro has been playing at various film festivals, and it has definitely gotten some buzz going, with many who have seen the movie - cineasts and critics equally - claiming the movie is nothing short of a masterpiece. The Spanish language film will finally open wide at the end of the year (December 29 in the US), and with only four more months to go it seems Picturehouse has decided to get some marketing into gear (this is an international release, after all), producing a eerie yet lush trailer befitted with English captions. IGN reports that the produces of Prince Caspian, the second movie from the Chronicles of Narnia, will use the visual effects houses that worked on all four Harry Potter films, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and X-Men III. London based Moving Picture Company and Framestore have apparently been chosen to provide the visual magic rather than ILM, Rhythm + Hues, and Sony Imagework who worked on The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
The choice of UK companies might provide a clue as to where the movie might be filmed. Ireland was rumored to be a shooting location earlier this year, but new tax breaks instituted by the British government to encourage the film industry might make an English location desirable.
