iamlegendsmall.jpgSplash News has published the first pictures of Will Smith from the location shoot of the upcoming I Am Legend. The images show Smith as Robert Neville, the main character from the movie adapatation of Richard Mathesons apocalyptic novel, due for release next year. Recent reports and images now suggest that this new adaptation will take place in a contaminated New York, with the immune Doctor Neville attempting to find a cure for the disease that has turned the city into a no-go zone. In this sense it will be much closer in theme to the 1976 version, The Omega Man, which depicted Neville as a biological weapons researcher trying to produce a serum to cure the last few survivors of the plague.

gladiator.jpgAccording the the World Entertainment News Network, Russell Crowe has confirmed that the long rumored Gladiator sequel may yet go into production.

“We talk about it every now and then [with Ridley Scott],” said the Australian star. “We did kind of make it tricky for ourselves, considering we killed the character at the end of the first one. But that’s not necessarily going to stop us. There have been stranger things happen out of Hollywood… There’s a sort of ‘What happens in the after-life?’ question.”

crowe21.jpgIn response to recent rumors that Russel Crowe may be playing the role of Steve Irwin in a biopic about his life, Crowe is making very clear that he has not been pursuing such a role. Crowe, a close friend of The Crocodile Hunter (who died in a marine accident several weeks ago), spoke on the rumors, saying, “There’s no truth to that whatsoever. That’s one of those appalling pieces of shit that come out of the press. While my friend’s body is still warm, I’m being accused of doing commerce over his grave, and it absolutely disgusts me.” Crowe did say, however, that he would be in favor of a movie about Irwin eventually being made (albeit not necessarily starring Crowe himself.) “Should there be a movie made about Steve? For sure, what an incredible and unique life he led.”

The Impending Oil Crisis

quote I am a little leary of the situation. The truth will come out when, and if the US economy, and the dollar begins to strengthen. If prices remain high, you’ll know someone is lying. Either OPEC doesn’t have the supply they claim they have, or Analysts are incorrect when they say demand has decreased. Personally, I don’t buy the claim that demand has decreased. Population is ever increasing, so, the the demand should always be increasing. quote
