terminator01.jpgComingsoon reports that Fox Broadcasting has officially greenlit the production of a pilot for a proposed Terminator television series. The Sarah Connor Chronicles will explore what happened to the character during the second and third movie.

David Nutter, who has an excellent record in producing pilot shows (his last twelve have made the transition to series) has been brought in to direct and act as executive producer. His previous directorial efforts include Smallville, ER, Nip/Tuck and the Sopranos.

cage.jpgTyrese Gibson has been talking to IGN about his involvement in the Marvel Comics adaptation Luke Cage.  This is what the actor had to say on the set of Transformers-

“Right now they’re doing a rewrite on the film. John Singleton’s got me at the top of his list. I’m not full-on committed to the project but it’s something I’m extremely interested in. Met up with Neal Moritz a few times about it. Met up with Avi Arad a few times about it, and you know, we’ll see what happens.

legacy01.jpgThe official Star Wars site has provided fans with a first look at the cover of the fourth novel in the Legacy of the Force nine book series published by Del Ray Books.

Star Wars Legacy of the Force: Exile is written by Aaron Allston with a cover by artist Jason Felix. The book will be released in paperback, but the series itself is a mix of three hardcovers and six mass-market paperbacks. In addition to Allston, the series features authors Troy Denning and Karen Traviss. The second book, Bloodlines by Traviss, is scheduled for release this week.

thieriot.jpgAccording to the Hollywood Reporter, Max Thieriot has joined the cast of Doug Liman’s sci-fi movie Jumper. Thieriot will play a younger version of the main character portrayed by Hayden Christensen. The young actor was most recently seen in Adam Shankman’s Catch That Kid and Disney’s The Pacifier. The movie, adapted from a novel by Steven Gould tells the story of a young man who discovers that he can escape from his abusive father by teleporting. After embarking on a quest find his missing mother he draws the attention of the NSA. The production begins shooting at the end of August in several locations including Toronto, Rome and Tokyo. If a success, the movie will become the first of a trilogy.

PotterThe year 2007 is the tenth anniversary of the publication of the first Harry Potter book, and to mark this occasion a major fan event will be taking place in London, England. Sectus 2007 will run from 19th to 22nd July, and encompass a variety of events from academic papers, discussions and debates to themed sports and games set against the backdrop of a unique Wizarding Tournament. The organisers have announced that Steve Vander Ark, creator of the Harry Potter Lexicon website, is to be a guest speaker at the event.
