According to Harry Potter fansite MuggleNet, there has been no filming done involving the “Weasley is our king” storyline in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and there are no plans plans to do so. The site has learned that Ron Weasley actor Rupert Grint has no broomstick scenes on his schedule, which could imply that the fifth film may drop the book’s Quidditch scenes altogether. This would make Order of the Phoenix the first film adaptation to cut Quidditch entirely - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire did not feature the broomstick sport because the Quidditch season had been cancelled on behalf of the tri-wizard tournament, both in the book and on film.

SCI FI Wire and IGN were both able to visit the set of Michael Bay’s live-action Transformers adaptation in downtown Los Angeles last Saturday, August 26. They witnessed the filming of part of the film’s showdown, which featured actors Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky) and Megan Fox (Mikaela) and a military crew spotting Decepticon Jets in the sky. Further shooting included four Autobots in vehicle mode - the rescue vehicle Ratchet, the black GMC 4×4 Ironhide, the silver Pontiac Jazz, and the yellow Camara Bumblebee - in the middle of lots of chaos.
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences tonight (Sunday, August 27, 2006) awarded the 2005-2006 Primetime Emmys for television programs and individual achievements on the “58th Primetime Emmy Awards” from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. HBO’s Elizabeth I was the big winner with nine awards, while Fox’s 24 won Best Drama Series and Best Actor (Kiefer Sutherland), receiving five awards in total. The night proved to be disappointing though for acclaimed and popular shows such as Lost, CSI, Grey’s Anatomy or Desperate Housewives, none of which were awarded with any Emmys.
