Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan shared some interesting hints about the upcoming sequel in the new franchise, The Dark Knight. Nolan said that the theme of the movie will be “things having to get worse before they get better.” Nolan also shared that the title of the sequel was “chosen very specifically” but that the fans will have to infer what it means. Nolan also cited that he would like to use some elements of the Joker’s character as it appears in the comic “The Killing Joke,” but that he will also be using elements from Joker’s original appearance in the comics. British actress Jessica Stevenson has joined the cast of David Yates’ Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, reports Variety. Stevenson will play a witch by the name of Mafalda Hopkirk, who works in the Ministry of Magic. Hopkirk is the head of the Improper Use Of Magic Office who disciplines Harry for employing his magical skills outside of Hogwarts school.
Stevenson made a name for herself starring in several TV shows, including Spaced, which she co-wrote with Shaun of the Dead writer/actor Simon Pegg. She’s currently in the cinema with Debbie Isitt’s Confetti, which was released in the UK in May and opens in the United States September 22.

The SCI FI Channel announced this week that the Stargate SG-1 TV show, which reached the 200 epsiode milestone last week, will end in 2007 after ten seasons. The series has surpassed The X-Files as the longest running American science fiction series of all time but will live on in spirit through the spinoff show Stargate Atlantis, which will return for a fourth season next year.
Although this might be the end for SG-1 on SCI FI, the Hollywood Reporter has said that MGM might yet throw fans a lifeline.
