Transformers Teaser PosterAccess Hollywood recently visited the set of Michael Bay’s Transformers, the live-action adaptation of the 80s cartoon in which alien robots disguise themselves as cars, jets, guns and more, and have produced a segment which can now be viewed online via Michael Bay’s blog. The most interesting bit is the capture of a screen playing an animatic of actor Shia LeBouf (Spike) being attacked by one of the robots, which can be seen transforming from car mode into its humanoid form. A clip of only this animatic is available at Aint-it-cool.com. Transformers is scheduled for release 4 July 2007.

UPDATE 08/08/06- It seems that this rumor is untrue.

AICN published the following today-

Carpenter himself shot the entire rumor down today when we spoke. “ESCAPE FROM EARTH is an idea we had several years ago, but it never really got any further than that,” he said. When I asked him if he’d met at Paramount, he just laughed. “Nope.” In an e-mail, his wife and producer Sandy King also emphasized how untrue the story was.

2008 U.S. Presidential election

quoteI prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.quote
