Film Focus have been talking to Christian Bale about his role in the next Batman movie, The Dark Knight.
“I just love that title,” Bale said, “You know, nothing’s written in stone yet, but I like, very much, that it doesn’t have ‘Batman’ written in the title. This take on Batman of mine and Chris’ is very different from any of the others and everything else always had Batman in the title. I think this is kind-of distancing it even further and saying, ‘Hey, this is a whole different creature from what has come before.’”
A sequel for the disappointing 2004 Disney movie National Treasure will commence filming in 2007. In an interview with The LA Daily News, Director Jon Turltetaub said “We are just about to start preproduction. We’ll have Nic, Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel… Everyone’s back except anyone who’s in jail or died“.
I prefer Obama to McCain. Now, McCain’s better than average for a Republican. And though his ads are intellectually offensive, he’s just bowing to his campaign masters and would calm down and be more sane once in office and not campaigning. But I have a few concerns with McCain on foreign policy. He’s not a full-fledged Neocon. That’s good. He opposed Reagan on Lebanon. Good. He was critical of Bush’s initial strategy in Iraq. That’s good. But there’s a problem. He thinks the Vietnam war was winnable and that the US shouldn’t have withdrawn. He’s also eager to spread democracy with force. This just isn’t a good set of beliefs for inheriting Iraq.
