Transformers fansite Seibertron.com posted the very first image depicting the full body of Optimus Prime, as he will appear in director Micheal Bay’s live-action adaptation of the cult cartoon series. The picture seems to have originated from some sort of poster advertizing the movie’s release in July 2007; it offers a very good look at that familiar face plate and the new and very detailed body mechanics with the already infamous flames paint-job. More than that, though, it shows the enormous weapon Optimus carries around with him, which leaves us with no doubt as to its intentions: to whack the hideous Megatron with full-force.

German director Christoph Schlingensief has revealed his plans to make a film about the final hours in the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, who was killed in a car crash in 1997. German actress Jenny Elvers-Elbertzhagen has been cast in the role of Diana, according to UK Teletext.
“In London, we will have to work secretly because Diana is sacrosanct - and everybody goes jittery the minute you just mention her name. Jenny is my Princess Di because, like Di, she presents a projection surface for longings. She resembles Diana as both of them seem to be within reach, but never are”, the director commented.

Philip Pullman, the author of the His Dark Materials trilogy, was invited to visit Shepperton Studios the other day, to witness how the film adaptation of The Golden Compass (the first installment) is shaping up. Recounting the experience in his September message, the author mentions his enthusiasm on seeing his book come to life: “Not a great deal has been built yet, but I could see from the artwork how sumptuous and extraordinary this film will look […] And the costumes! The gyptians look magnificent - rough and vivid patterned coats and boots; and Lyra`s dresses […] are beautifully right.”
Pullman also mentions his delight at New Line’s casting choices, whilst confirming who will play some of the minor roles.

A staffer from Harry Potter fansite The Leaky Cauldron was recently invited to the headquarters of EA, one of the biggest video game production companies, who are currently working closely together with Warner to create a very authentic video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. EA is using actual film blueprints to base the game on, meaning the settings she got to see were very close to what will eventually feature in the film. Next to a recount of the game developer’s Potter obsession and details on which characters will be controllable and how the magic spells will be performed, a very interesting tidbit is the structural breakdown of the game, which may offer some insight into which scenes will feature in the film.

Christopher Nolan is currently editing and promoting The Prestige, and while discussing that film with various movie sites who promise to have their interviews with him online soon, Nolan was also questioned about the Batman sequel The Dark Knight.
The director stressed how his interest in the sequel lies in moving on from Batman Begins and doing something quite different: “I think, what people responded to most about Batman Begins is how different it was from their expectations. So I think we would be foolish to not recognize that and attempt to do something very different in the sequel. I certainly wouldn’t have any interest in trying to repeat the experience that the film already made because I think, particularly being an origin story, it’s a very unique thing.”
